The Process

We had the pleasure of covering this community event sponsored by Deadly Doodles, a Dallas clothing brand. Many Dallas-local brands and small businesses gathered at Guapo Skatepark in Deep Ellum with the intention to centralize support for those who share the passion for the skateboarding culture.

It was the raw and radical culture of skateboarding embraced by a community of genuine individuals making this experience special.

There were all shades and sizes, but a string of understanding connected every one of these unique individuals. To live in the moment, disregarding the staring eye of judging bystanders - thats the way of unashamed bliss.

Admittedly, there are some rugged characters, even bad influences, but all-in-all the community of skateboarding is inevitably inclusive. The support and love that actually goes on underneath the stigmatic tarp of recklessness (halfway true) is what gives this scene life.
